AceTel, a connectivity hardware manufacturer serving telecom operators, distributors and brand owners, today announced the AceTel M06, a portable 5G MiFi hotspot built on 3GPP Release 17 5G RedCap (Reduced Capability) technology. The M06 is now available for evaluation samples and OEM/ODM projects.
The M06 brings 5G NR Standalone (SA) connectivity to a compact hotspot with dual-band Wi-Fi 6, two Nano SIM slots, two eSIM profiles and a 3500mAh removable battery, giving operators and brands a 5G mobile broadband product that sits between 4G LTE MiFi devices and full-bandwidth 5G hotspots.

Why 5G RedCap for a MiFi Hotspot
RedCap limits the device to a 20 MHz FR1 channel and a reduced antenna configuration (2RX/1TX in the M06) while retaining 5G NR features such as Standalone operation. For a personal hotspot, this approach delivers a clear step up from LTE Cat 4 speeds, with a simpler RF and power design than a full-bandwidth 5G modem.
