Key Features
Fiber and 5G NR in One Gateway
The TG924NR combines a GPON ONT, a Wi-Fi 7 router and a 5G NR modem in one housing. That gives an operator three deployment options with one device: fiber only, fiber with a 5G connection next to it, or 5G access where fiber has not arrived yet. The datasheet describes the last case directly: with a 5G/4G SIM, the unit can bring a shop, restaurant, rental flat or small office online without cable or fiber.
The 5G modem supports 3GPP Release 15 in both SA and NSA modes on Sub-6 GHz bands, with 4x4 MIMO downstream on n1/n3/n7/n28/n38/n40/n41/n66/n77/n78. The datasheet lists maximum rates of 2 Gbps down / 1 Gbps up on 5G SA and 2.6 Gbps down / 650 Mbps up on 5G NSA. These are theoretical peaks; real throughput depends on the operator’s network, signal at the install location and cell load. Compared with an LTE Cat6 backup, the 5G path is better suited to sites that need to keep more than payments and booking systems running while the fiber is down.
How traffic moves between the fiber and 5G paths is a firmware policy. Agree the WAN behavior you need at the sample stage and test it on your own OLT and SIM.
Wi-Fi 7 BE3600 with Mlo and EasyMesh
The Wi-Fi side is dual-band Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) with 2x2 MU-MIMO: up to 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. Multi-Link Operation (MLO) lets a Wi-Fi 7 client use both bands at once or switch between them, and 4096-QAM carries 12 bits per symbol instead of the 10 bits of Wi-Fi 6’s 1024-QAM. EasyMesh support allows coverage to be extended with additional mesh nodes. Wireless security covers WEP, WPA, WPA2, WPA2 Mixed, WPA3 and WPA3 Mixed.
On the wired side, one 2.5 Gbps LAN port suits a fast desktop, NAS or a downstream switch, and three Gigabit LAN ports cover set-top boxes, cash registers or monitors. The USB 3.0 port and an FXS port with SIP voice (G.729, G.722, G.711a, G.711) complete the gateway.

What is the difference between the TG924NR and the TG960L?
Both are GPON ONTs with a built-in cellular modem and FXS voice. The TG924NR uses a 5G NR Sub-6 GHz modem (Release 15, SA and NSA) with LTE Cat12/Cat13 fallback, Wi-Fi 7 BE3600, four LAN ports including one 2.5 Gbps port, and USB 3.0. The TG960L uses LTE Cat6, Wi-Fi 6 AX3000, two LAN ports plus one WAN port, and no USB.
Can the TG924NR work without a fiber connection?
The datasheet describes 5G/4G access through the SIM card as a way to get online where cable or fiber is not available, for example shops, restaurants, rental housing and small offices. Confirm the exact WAN mode you need, fiber only, fiber with 5G backup or 5G only, on the firmware version you will deploy.
Does the TG924NR switch to 5G automatically when the fiber goes down?
The datasheet lists GPON and 5G NR as two access paths but does not specify the switching policy between them. Tell us the behavior you need, for example fiber primary with 5G only on failure and failback after a stable period, and we will confirm it on the current firmware or quote a customization. Test it on a sample before volume orders.
